Larry Ramsey routinely defends corporations in complex civil litigation, including product liability claims, commercial disputes, environmental claims and toxic torts. He has served as lead counsel in over 25 trials in courts throughout California and has presented numerous briefs and arguments to appellate courts throughout his career.
Larry handles complex environmental and toxic tort claims. He notably defended a Fortune 500 company in a six-month trial where a public entity sought groundwater clean-up costs of $200 million due to alleged contamination from PCE, TCE and other volatile organic compounds. Throughout his career, he has defended against personal injury claims due to alleged exposures to asbestos, benzene and chlorinated solvents.
Larry has extensive experience going to verdict, representing electrical product manufacturers in cases involving various commercial and residential electrical distribution products. Additionally, Larry has gone to verdict in the defense of elevators and escalator claims, as well as claims of defects related to agricultural, oil field and food processing machinery.
Larry has also represented employers in a variety of wrongful discharge and employment disputes. He served as lead trial counsel on behalf of a major chemical manufacturer in case involving a breach of agency agreement. He has also served as trial counsel on breach of trust claims, coverage disputes and wrongful termination matters.
Larry's activities on the Boards of Directors of the California Defense Counsel and Association of Southern California Defense Counsel promote the perspective of corporations and their counsel in California through interaction with the legislature and judiciary.
