Erica S. Mekles

Senior Counsel

Erica Mekles concentrates her practice on complex civil, commercial and insurance coverage litigation. Erica has extensive experience representing clients in high-exposure product liability, premises liability, construction and contract dispute matters.

Erica has appeared as lead trial counsel in more than 100 jury trials. She rigorously works to defend her clients’ in a wide range of product liability matters throughout the country. Her core practice is focused on litigating cases involving claims for damages alleged to arise from defective consumer and commercial products. Additionally, she has substantial experience coordinating class actions related to third-party litigation.

Erica’s expansive knowledge of insurance coverage litigation allows her to litigate claims under a vast range of insurance policies including general and professional liability policies, directors’ and officers’ policies, first party policies (including property/business interruption) and excess and umbrella policies. 

In addition to her product liability practice, Erica is dedicated to pro bono work within her community and beyond. She has represented numerous domestic violence victims and children seeking legal immigration status in the United States.
