On January 21, 2014, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit ruled that manufacturers and sellers of "combination products"—that is, products which have attributes of both pharmaceuticals and medical devices—are not statutorily immune from liability under Michigan's Tort Reform statute.
