honors and awards icon

Bowman and Brooke holds the #7 spot in the "10 Best Law Firms for Black Attorneys" list based on a recent survey conducted by Law360. In addition to affirming our commitment to diverse representation, this announcement comes on the heels of recognition from Law360 as a top firm for female attorneys and minority attorneys.

Though black attorneys continue to be underrepresented in U.S. law firms, especially at the partner level, we are proud to be one of the 10 recognized law firms. Our firm consists of 10.5% black nonpartners and 3.7% percent black partners, well above the national average of 2.9% black nonpartners and 1.9% black partners.

Alana Bassin, chair of Bowman and Brooke's Diversity Committee, spoke with Law360 on ways the firm supports the advancement of diverse attorneys, including leadership training retreats and involvement with organizations such as the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity. She also discusses why the firm has made diversity a priority, and it starts with the increasing demand for diverse representation from clients.

"[Our clients] are diverse. They are international. They want to see diverse trial teams," Alana said. "We believe that diversity...brings better results."

Firms included in this list are ranked based on their representation of black attorneys at the partner and nonpartner levels and their total number of black attorneys. Read more about our commitment to diversity and inclusion.
