Lori Lofano has significant experience with discovery coordination and eDiscovery in complex products liability cases, commercial cases and class actions. She works with clients to implement uniform discovery and eDiscovery processes, develop best practices regarding the collection and retention of electronically stored information and create litigation hold protocols. She also oversees the preparation of discovery responses and the production of documents, with the aim of minimizing client risk and potential sanctions and providing uniform responses in cases around the country. Furthermore, she prepares discovery motions and responses to motions to compel or, in rare instances, motions for sanctions against her clients, in addition to working with trial counsel and clients to resolve discovery disputes.
Lori routinely speaks and writes on topics pertaining to discovery and eDiscovery. A passionate advocate for diversity and inclusion in the legal profession, she has also written and spoken numerous times on diversity-related matters and is a long-time member of the firm's Diversity and Inclusion Committee.
After spending the first 14 years of her career in the firm's Phoenix office, Lori recently returned to her Midwest roots and transferred to the Detroit office of Bowman and Brooke. Outside of work, she enjoys exploring Michigan, raising chickens, planning her vegetable gardens and spending time with her family and dogs.
