William F. Auther, Partner in Phoenix, AZ, has just been appointed by the Arizona Supreme Court to the Arizona Commission on Judicial Performance Review! The commission is mandated by the Arizona Constitution and is made up of 18 public members, only six lawyers and six judges are involved. The Commission sets performance standards for judges, decides whether or not a judge meets those standards, and reports to the public in advance of the retention election cycle for each judge. The commission is responsible for all Arizona Supreme Court Justices, all Appellate Court Judges, and all trial court judges in Maricopa, Pima and Pinal Counties.
Will's selection into the Commission was deemed a "recognition of his status as one of the top trial lawyers in the state, embodying the highest ethical standards and reflects the confidence of the judiciary in his abilities to carry out the duties of the office."
