We are thrilled to share that Senior Counsel David Koob has been named to the esteemed National Black Lawyers (NBL) Top 100 list and Associate DeShawn Mitchell has been named to the NBL Top 40 Under 40. They are the only new members to be named this year, according to the NBL. This is just the latest prestigious recognition for them, in 2022 David was named to serve as a commissioner on the Minnesota Racing Commission and DeShawn completed the South Carolina Bar's Leadership Academy in 2022.
The NBL is a membership organization dedicated to honoring the nation’s top black lawyers and providing a strong network. The organization vets nominations by assessing a candidate’s reputation, achievements, certifications, memberships, rankings and more.
David and DeShawn are now two of seven Bowman and Brooke attorneys named to a NBL list. He joins Will Purnell, Stacy Young and Dorinda Varley on the NBL Top 100. Dwayne Burns and Jasmine Owens are honored on the NBL Top 40 Under 40.
