Columbia Managing Partner Joel Smith was named a 2015 Law360 Product Liability MVP, an award which recognizes elite attorneys for significant accomplishments in high-stakes litigation, record-breaking deals and complex global matters.
With no shortage of competition, Joel was one of more than 850 submissions reviewed for this year's MVP distinctions. Law360 editors selected 189 lawyers as 2015 MVPs from a record 86 firms spanning 31 practice areas.
Joel has over 31 years of experience defending product liability and mass torts litigation as a first-chair trial lawyer in venues across the country. He currently serves as co-lead technical counsel for a major automotive manufacturer in their national and MDL litigation, and has also served as MDL and lead counsel in pharmaceutical cases.
