Minneapolis Co-Managing Partner Barry Koopmann and Partner Michael Carey were recognized in Benchmark Litigation's 2017 "Under 40 Hot List." This award was created to honor the achievements of the nation's most accomplished legal partners of the age of forty or younger.
Barry Koopmann defends high-stakes litigation nationwide and has served as trial counsel in high-profile medical device trials and appeals. Among his notable experience, Barry was trial counsel in a bellwether jury trial defending the manufacturer of an orthopaedic surgical device, and served as support trial counsel on behalf of a medical device manufacturer in a jury trial involving alleged injuries sustained from transvaginal mesh.
Mike Carey has spent a majority of his practice in the courtroom, trying cases involving claims of wrongful death, catastrophic injury, breach of warranty and misappropriation of trade secrets. Of his noteworthy experience, Mike chaired a $7.3 million vehicle restraint system design defect case involving severe intra-abdominal injuries on behalf of a major motor vehicle manufacturer.
