Minneapolis Partners Michael Carey, Molly Given and Barry Koopmann were recognized in Benchmark Litigation's very first "Under 40 Hot List." This new award was created to honor the achievements of the nation's most accomplished legal partners of the age of forty or younger.
Mike Carey has spent a majority of his eight years of practice in the courtroom, trying cases involving claims of wrongful death, catastrophic injury, breach of warranty and misappropriation of trade secrets. Most recently, Mike chaired a $7.3 million vehicle restraint system design defect case involving severe intra-abdominal injuries on behalf of a major motor vehicle manufacturer.
Molly Given has multiple verdicts under her belt and experience defending medical device and pharmaceutical clients in class action, MDL and other precedent-setting litigation. She played a key role as part of the national trial team representing a medical device manufacturer in personal injury claims involving pelvic mesh and has chaired medical device trials including the first bellwether trial in the California pain pump JCCP.
Barry Koopmann defends high-stakes litigation nationwide and has served as trial counsel in high-profile medical device trials and appeals. Among his notable experience, Barry was trial counsel in a bellwether jury trial defending the manufacturer of an orthopaedic surgical device, and served as support trial counsel on behalf of a medical device manufacturer in a jury trial involving alleged injuries sustained from transvaginal mesh.
