The Leadership Academy is a highly selective program designed to equip young lawyers with networking opportunities, professionalism training, community awareness, and other skills needed to assume a leadership position in the professional community. Participants are given opportunities to connect with judges and legislators, gain insight into the political process, and identify opportunities for community involvement.
Participants also get cues from seasoned lawyers to enhance their business development skills, their client-service instincts, and their interactions with judges and colleagues. Ms. Strickland was one of only 20 graduates to be recognized before the Bar’s House of Delegates.
At Bowman and Brooke, Ms. Strickland practices in the areas of product liability and personal injury defense, including both consumer and industrial products. In the automotive industry, Ms. Strickland has defended against claims alleging product defects in airbags and seat belts, as well as handling and stability issues along with post-collision fuel-fed fires cases. She was most recently a member of the Quinton v. Toyota trial team that defended an airbag claim resulting in a defense verdict in U.S.D.C., District of South Carolina, Aiken Division.
In addition to her South Carolina Bar Association activities, Ms. Strickland is an active member of the American Bar Association, Richland County Bar Association, and South Carolina Women Lawyers Association.
