Ted O’Toole is an experienced litigator who defends global manufacturers in complex product liability litigation. Clients from a diverse array of industries, including pharmaceutical, medical device and industrial manufacturers, look to him for his unique international experience and strategically aggressive approach to resolving disputes. Ted’s defense experience extends to automotive product liability, consumer warranty and general liability cases as well.
Ted has represented clients through all phases of the litigation process, from pre-suit through trial and post-trial matters. He has conducted investigations and risk assessments, determined litigation strategy in multi-plaintiff and class actions, and managed experts. Ted has briefed and argued motions and appeals, conducted arbitrations and negotiated settlements in catastrophic cases throughout the country.
Ted previously spent ten years as senior counsel to a global insurance company based in Germany. In that role, he managed and resolved lawsuits brought against insured companies from across the European continent. Having spent extended periods of time living in Germany and Switzerland, Ted speaks fluent German and French in addition to his native English.
In his free time, Ted enjoys telemark and alpine skiing and is an accomplished guitarist. Ted is also a competitive cyclist; he has also planned, organized and led cycling tours throughout Europe
