Maya Davis represents clients in a broad range of civil litigation matters. She has represented clients in matters ranging from minor injuries to significant and catastrophic claims. Her experience includes personal injury, premises liability, trucking, construction and matters involving the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians. Maya handles matters throughout the litigation process and has experience with discovery, depositions, motion practice, settlement negotiations, trial preparation and courtroom advocacy.
Prior to joining Bowman and Brooke, Maya gained experience in both plaintiff and defense litigation, where she handled matters from multiple perspectives and throughout various stages of litigation, including trial. During law school, she had unique hands-on time with jury research and trial strategy, where she assisted trial teams during voir dire by researching prospective jurors and providing insights to help inform jury selection strategy.
Maya is an active leader in the North Carolina legal community. She currently serves as a Division Director for the New Lawyers in Practice Committee of the North Carolina Bar Association Young Lawyers Division and as Vice Chair of the Mecklenburg Bar Association, Young Lawyers Division. Her contributions to the legal profession have been recognized by the North Carolina Bar Association Young Lawyers Division, which named her Young Lawyer of the Quarter twice. Maya has also been recognized among The National Black Lawyers Top 40 Under 40.
