Catherine Cala represents clients in product liability matters with a focus on life sciences litigation. She brings unique knowledge in the field of public health and policy, as well as legal writing, research and courtroom experience.
Catherine spent nearly five years with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention as an attorney and advisor on legislative and policy issues. There, she honed her skills as a researcher, writer and communicator of emerging legal problems through the lens of public health. She brings value to trial teams by synthesizing complex medical concepts into clear and actionable insights.
In her practice, Catherine has appeared in court on behalf of clients, argued motions and handled all phases of litigation, including pre-trial motions, pleadings, discovery and settlement negotiations. Further experience as a Staff Attorney for the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit saw her analyze complex federal appellate matters and draft legal memoranda recommending outcomes.
Outside of work, Catherine is an avid reader and skilled cook. A Georgia native, she enjoys spending time with her friends and family in Augusta.
