Remembering Richard A. Bowman

On September 7, 2016, trial lawyer and founding partner Richard A. 'Dick' Bowman passed away at age 75. Dubbed the “father figure of automotive transport litigation,” Bowman built the nation’s largest automotive product liability defense practice and shaped the product liability landscape for the entire industry.

The firm remembers Dick for his larger-than-life personality in the courtroom which he brought to the nearly 100 emotionally charged cases he first-chaired in 37 different states, including the landmark crashworthiness case, Larsen v. GM Corporation. Dedicated to teaching and nurturing the careers of younger lawyers, his legacy will be carried on through the generations of extraordinary product liability trial lawyers he prepared to serve as front-line defenders of the automotive industry and countless other industries.
