Rachelle Velgersdyk is a product liability lawyer with a practice focused on defending medical device manufacturers in complex, high-profile litigation. Rachelle is a passionate advocate for her clients, with trial experience that involves plaintiff cross-examination as well as arguing Daubert and other trial motions.

With medical device experience that includes the defense of pain pumps, men’s health products, pelvic mesh, IVC filters, hip implants, and spinal implants and devices, Rachelle has handled cases in some of the country’s toughest jurisdictions including California, Florida, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana and Texas. Rachelle excels at managing complete case work-up, from start to finish. Her additional work for medical device manufacturers involves preparing expert and fact witnesses, taking and defending expert depositions, arguing motions for summary judgment and motions to dismiss, advancing preemption arguments, and extensively researching premarket approval regulations.

Rachelle excels at research, driven by a strong desire to understand the facts behind every claim she evaluates. She is known for her resourcefulness and keen ability to dive deep into medical records, internal documents and reports concerning each individual claim and to distill facts and information into the critical insights that shape defense strategy. Rachelle is also skilled in client relations and often advises in-house counsel on case strategy to advance the desired litigation outcome. She is adept at developing the corporate story, and frequently works with internal product teams, including engineers, designers and other subject matter experts, to guide the legal aspects of the company and product story.

Rachelle also defends corporations and long-term care facilities in matters of commercial litigation and general liability, including contract disputes, software defects, wrongful death and negligence.
