Sly Onyia defends automotive manufacturers in product liability litigation. He has experience performing legal research and preparing briefs, affidavits and interrogatories as well as reviewing and filing pleadings and petitions. Prior to joining Bowman and Brooke, Sly worked as a law clerk for several law firms.
While in law school, Sly served as a legal intern with the U.S. Air Force Judge Advocate General Corps, assisting with both civil and criminal matters. He also interned with the Innocence & Justice Project at the University of New Mexico School of Law, reviewing trial and pre-trial procedures and documentation to identify previously overlooked evidence and recommend applicants for appeal. Sly was successful in helping exonerate some wrongfully convicted individuals.
Outside of the office, Sly enjoys spending time with his wife and children, cheering on his son in soccer matches and his daughter at gymnastics competitions. He also enjoys jogging, travel, video games and watching NBA games.
