Sly Onyia focuses his practice on defending automotive manufacturers in product liability litigation. His cases regularly involve a wide range of complex claims including catastrophic injury and wrongful death across the country.
Sly routinely prepares fact witnesses for deposition, conducts early case evaluations, prepares briefs and motions as well as drafts settlement proposals. He also drafts affidavits and notices of default for commercial litigation matters. Sly is an integral player in client meetings by providing administrative support and meeting preparation.
While in law school, he served as a legal intern with the U.S. Air Force Judge Advocate General Corps, assisting with both civil and criminal matters. Driven by a passion for advocacy, Sly also interned with the Innocence & Justice Project at the University of New Mexico School of Law. There he reviewed trial and pre-trial procedures and documentation to identify previously overlooked evidence and recommend applicants for appeal.
Outside of the office, Sly enjoys spending time with his wife and children, cheering on his son in soccer matches and his daughter at gymnastics competitions. He also enjoys running, traveling, video games and watching NBA games.
