Marisa D’Amico is an experienced litigator who defends clients in complex disputes including construction defect and automobile warranty litigation.
With more than 20 years of experience in California state courts, Marisa has represented some of the state’s largest real estate developers and general contractors in construction defect litigation, as well as limited subcontractor defense, delay claims and premises liability. She gained meaningful insurance coverage experience through her defense of construction industry entities. She has extensive experience with trial preparation including drafting and arguing motions in limine and summary judgment motions as well as drafting trial briefs. Marisa has deep experience in multi-party dispute resolution and alternative dispute resolution, including JAMS arbitrations and mediations and special master mediations. She also advised a pharmaceutical company in class action litigation involving the diet drug Phen-Fen.
Marisa has strong working knowledge in a number of technical areas as a result of her work preparing and deposing expert witnesses in a variety of disciplines including architects, engineers, soils and geotechnical experts, accident re-constructionists, physicians and others.
In her free time, Marisa enjoys reading, watching basketball and football games (especially her boys’ basketball games) and attending rockabilly and punk rock concerts. She loves modern art and has visited art galleries and museums all over the world. Marisa speaks fluent French and conversational Italian.
