Shawn Libman is a trial attorney whose practice focuses mainly on premises liability and general liability defense for some of the most well-known retailers and consumer product manufacturers in the country. She has second-chaired trials in both state and federal court and is involved with all aspects of litigation, from discovery and case evaluation to motion practice and mediation.
Clients look to Shawn for her substantial background in premises liability litigation. She defends one of the nation's largest retailers in claims ranging from slip-and-fall injuries to alleged dangerous or hazardous conditions. Shawn also defends household names in consumer products claims alleging property damage. Shawn's other areas of experience also include auto negligence, real estate, garnishment, asbestos litigation, construction, and consumer law including the Telephone Consumer Protection Act, as well as commercial litigation and insurance class actions.
In addition to her practice, Shawn is the founder and editor of the DRI Retail and Hospitality Committee Newsletter, regularly contributing articles involving the latest industry issues and litigation trends. She also frequently participates in community volunteer work and has chaired projects with the Junior League of Miami.
Shawn is a native New Yorker, born in Brooklyn and raised in Long Island. She has been in Miami, Florida since attending the University of Miami School of Law.
