Kurt Kern joined the firm in 2011 to establish its first Texas office in Dallas. He is now a member of the firm's Executive Committee and maintains a robust national trial practice defending high-exposure product liability cases throughout Texas and beyond.
An experienced trial lawyer, Kurt has tried more than 75 cases in state and federal courts throughout the United States involving everything from seat belt claims to forklift design defects. Kurt focuses his practice on defending corporations, manufacturers and distributors of automotive, trucking, agriculture and other components in high-stakes product liability matters, many that frequently deal with catastrophic injuries and wrongful deaths. Kurt has tried several high-profile cases for some of the nation's largest automotive manufacturers involving crashworthiness, seatbelt and airbag claims, handling and stability issues, rollover and other auto-related issues.
Recognized for his trial prowess, Kurt was recommended by The Legal 500 in 2011 and 2014 for Product Liability Defense in Automotive/Transport. He also has been named to the Texas Super Lawyers list by Super Lawyers Magazine every year since 2006.
Outside of the courtroom, Kurt enjoys spending time with his wife and three daughters and roots for the St. Louis Cardinals.
