Mike has significant experience defending product manufacturers against single-plaintiff claims and mass torts nationwide. For more than 12 years, Mike has represented clients in product liability litigation involving industrial machinery, construction equipment, medical devices and asbestos/toxic torts. He has tried to verdict numerous state and federal cases along the East and West Coasts, second-chairing several high-exposure trials.
Mike has defended dozens of cases involving large industrial equipment, heavy machinery, forklifts, industrial fans and scaffolding. He co-chaired several catastrophic injury cases involving assembly line machinery which were tried to verdict in Pennsylvania. Additionally, Mike has worked on asbestos and toxic tort cases, as well as fire subrogation and premises liability cases involving falls from wind turbines, construction accidents, electrocutions and fires. He also has experience trying commercial cases involving breach of contract and the Landham Act.
Additionally, Mike serves as national counsel for a medical device company in mass tort litigation, managing the day-to-day logistics and creating trial and bellwether strategies. In addition to managing strategies and creating defenses for trial, he advises clients on discovery, expert witnesses, FDA regulatory compliance and reporting issues. With a background in medical malpractice, Mike has an in-depth understanding of complex medical issues. He has extensive experience defending medical device products, including cold therapy units, infusion and pain pumps, hip implants, dental instruments, medical software, spinal surgical devices, wheelchairs, surgical implants, and cannulas and syringes.
Mike is a graduate of the IADC Trial Academy and is a member of the Federation of Defense and Corporate Counsel.
