Mike defends manufacturers against single-plaintiff claims and mass torts nationwide in product liability litigation involving medical devices, pharmaceuticals, automobiles, industrial machinery, construction equipment and toxic torts as well as commercial litigation. He is a first-chair trial lawyer and has tried cases to verdict on the east and west coasts.

He has an in-depth understanding of complex medical issues and extensive experience defending medical devices, including cold therapy units, infusion and pain pumps, hip implants, dental instruments, medical software, spinal surgical devices, wheelchairs, surgical implants, cannulas and syringes. Mike has served as national counsel for a medical device company in mass tort litigation, managing the day-to-day logistics and creating trial and bellwether strategies. In addition, Mike also advises clients on discovery, expert witnesses, FDA regulatory compliance and reporting issues.

Mike is currently focused on the escalating California warranty litigation resulting from the Song-Beverly Consumer Warranty Act.  In his role as lead counsel to several automotive manufacturers, he has developed litigation strategies to deal with aggressive plaintiff’s counsel, supervised attorneys across multiple offices for a variety of manufacturers, managed dozens of cases and first-chaired several trials within the past 18 months.

His experience includes handling complex commercial disputes involving breach of contract and the Lanham Act, as well as cases involving claims under California’s Unfair Competition Law. Mike co-chaired several catastrophic injury cases involving assembly line machinery which were tried to verdict in Pennsylvania, and has worked on asbestos and toxic tort cases, fire subrogation and premises liability cases involving falls from wind turbines, construction accidents, electrocutions and fires.
