Carmen Bickerdt represents both national and international clients in product liability, toxic tort and warranty litigation often involving claims of personal injury, negligence and premises liability. She has handled cases across the country including Michigan, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Texas, Missouri, Louisiana and South Carolina. For several years, Carmen served as a member of the regional counsel team that defended a major automotive manufacturer in its widely publicized unintended acceleration litigation.
A majority of Carmen's practice is focused on defending clients in the automotive industry in a wide array of litigation. She frequently handles catastrophic injury claims and warranty matters on behalf of domestic, Asian and European motor vehicle manufacturers. Carmen also defends industrial equipment and vehicle manufacturers in asbestos exposure cases. Additionally, Carmen has experience defending a national retailer in multiple premises liability actions in the Midwest, a global appliance manufacturer in fire subrogation cases, and multiple trucking companies in automobile negligence actions.
Prior to joining Bowman and Brooke, Carmen’s practice included civil litigation. She counseled clients on a variety of issues that involved family law, asbestos defense, employment law, and contract disputes. Carmen served as a law clerk where she gained valuable experience in litigation including planning structures, analyzing statutes and precedent laws, as well as preparing cases.
Outside of the courtroom, Carmen enjoys spending time with her husband and two children as well as interior design, fashion styling and event planning.
