Barbara Brown joined Bowman and Brooke in 2016 in a dual role as the firm's Marketing Manager and Diversity and Inclusion Manager. Having previously served a long tenure in a leadership position at an AmLaw 100 firm, she has a thorough understanding of clients, lawyers, strategy, and the business of law from many perspectives.
Barbara has worked closely with lawyers for decades and has handled all aspects of legal marketing and business development including hundreds of client presentations, proposals and responses to RFPs involving large and small companies. Barbara oversees the firm's marketing program across thirteen offices and nine states and ensures that efforts are aligned with the firm's goals, strategic plan and brand.
Additionally, Barbara manages the firm's nationwide award-winning Diversity and Inclusion program. Along with the Chair, she leads the firm's Diversity & Inclusion Committee in evaluating and improving diversity and inclusion policies, programs and best practices. On a daily basis, she collaborates with the firm's leaders and administrative departments regarding recruitment, retention, promotion and mentoring of diverse attorneys and staff.
Bowman and Brooke is a diversity leader in the legal industry. The firm ranked 25th on the American Lawyer Diversity Scorecard (2017). Overall, 19.8% of the firm's attorneys are minorities and 14.7% of partners are minorities. This national recognition is one of many acknowledgements that reflect Bowman and Brooke's ongoing commitment to recruiting and developing diverse talent.
