Anita Bamshad represents corporate clients in product liability litigation. She defends automotive clients in cases alleging airbag non-deployment, electrical failures, insufficient crashworthiness, and other alleged defects. Anita also represents manufacturers of facility equipment in catastrophic injury cases and defends a national retailer in premises liability and negligence matters.
Anita handles all aspects of case development including factual investigations, legal research, case strategy, and written discovery. She collaborates with expert consultants and technical analysis teams to assess defect claims and prepare detailed case evaluations. She has deposed witnesses, including physicians and emergency personnel. She has prepared motions to compel and for summary judgment and has argued motions in state and federal court. Anita has participated in mediations, resulting in favorable outcomes for her clients. She also assists in trial preparation by preparing motions in limine, jury instructions, special verdict forms, and other pre-trial filings.
Prior to joining Bowman and Brooke, Anita practiced municipal law, defending public entities and special districts in employment, civil rights, and breach of contract litigation. During law school, Anita served as a law clerk with the Criminal Division of the U.S. Department of Justice in Sacramento, California and served as a judicial extern for the Honorable Gonzalo P. Curiel in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California.
