Andres Michel counsels clients in complex warranty and product liability litigation.
Before joining Bowman and Brooke, Andres served as in-house counsel to a global motor vehicle manufacturer where he directed litigation and settlement strategies for warranty and product liability claims (including class actions) involving motorcycles, ATVs, side by sides, watercraft, outboard and marine products. He worked collaboratively with product groups to mediate and negotiate claims, prepared company witnesses for trial and argued motions in court. In addition, Andres evaluated product warnings, marketing programs and advertising to ensure compliance with government regulations and to minimize legal exposure. He helped to resolve dealer issues (e.g., terminations, buy-outs, and relocations) with the manufacturer and reviewed dealer agreements and product addenda.
Andres also served as in-house counsel at a major public utility where he drafted pleadings and motions, managed discovery and depositions and represented the company in court, arguing motions and serving as second chair in several trials. He also represented the company before government entities.
A former professional musician and chef, Andres enjoys cooking and baking as well as playing clarinet, saxophone, flute and piano in his free time. He is fluent in Spanish.
