Bowman and Brooke Announces New Executive and Management Committee Members

Kim Schmid newly appointed as Firm Vice Chair; Joel Smith joins Executive Committee

Bowman and Brooke is pleased to announce several exciting changes within our firm's leadership for 2017. 

Minneapolis Executive Managing Partner Kim Schmid was elected as Firm Vice Chair. Kim is the first woman to serve in this role, which has been held most recently by founding partner David W. Graves, Jr.

A leader in the life sciences industry, Kim has played a key role in the strategic and overall management of the firm, helping shape the firm's growth throughout the United States. She is currently serving as national trial counsel in a significant medical device mass tort, and serves as national coordinating counsel in several others.

Columbia Partner Joel Smith has been elected to the firm's Executive Committee where he will serve as Executive Managing Partner. Joel is a nationally recognized first-chair trial lawyer with more than 30 years of experience defending high-exposure product liability and mass tort litigation.

The firm's Management Committee also elected five new Managing Partners: Alana Bassin (Minneapolis), Mike Madokoro (Los Angeles and San Diego); Rob Wise (Richmond), Richard Willis (Columbia), and David Stone (Dallas). Re-elected to their posts as Managing Partners were Tom Branigan (Detroit), Kelly Kimbrough (Austin), John Seipp (Miami), and Frank Hosley (Orlando). These individuals hold responsibility and leadership for day-to-day operations in their respective offices. 

Barry Koopmann (Minneapolis), Courtney Shytle (Columbia),  were newly elected as Co-Managing Partners in their respective offices. The following attorneys were re-elected as Co-Managing Partner: Janell Adams (Phoenix), Jeffrey Gorcyca (Detroit), Neil Kliebenstein (San Jose), and Robert Rudock (Miami). 

We are privileged to have these individuals at the helm of the firm and congratulate each of them for their stellar contributions to the firm and their clients.
