Summer Law Clerk Program

The Summer Law Clerk Program is designed to give students a taste of what life would be like working as a trial attorney at Bowman and Brooke. Many of the attorneys at Bowman and Brooke have come through the Law Clerk Program. This is a true testament to why we are committed to providing a meaningful and practical experience for students.

Law Clerks are given the opportunity to perform legal research, present writing tasks for our attorneys and much more. The program also offers an introduction to the culture of Bowman and Brooke by providing recreational and social events with attorneys and staff of the firm. All of this ensures that students are able to network and get to know the attorneys they may be working with after graduation.

Here's what our former Law Clerks, now Bowman and Brooke Associates, have to say about their experience with Bowman and Brooke:

"Bowman and Brooke's summer clerk program gave me more than I ever hoped for.  From the very first day, everybody made me feel as if I had been part of the team for years.  In just six weeks, I worked on a variety of complex cases in both federal and state courts, was able to sit in on a planning session with expert witnesses, and was even included on a team that handled a lengthy out of town trial!  Even more, I was encouraged to develop and share my own opinions and ideas about the cases we worked on, which was invaluable to my experience, especially because I was in the company of such top notch lawyers.  On top of all that, Bowman and Brooke provided the clerks with quite a few social opportunities with the partners and associates, just to remind us that lawyers get to have a little fun too!"

Kevin Malloy – Columbia

"As a Bowman and Brooke Summer Associate, I performed meaningful, substantive legal work on actual cases.  I drafted a summary judgment motion that was reviewed by the client and ultimately argued in court.  My legal research and analysis of more discrete issues were included in briefs and communications with clients.  In short, the work I did as a Summer Associate mattered.  I also worked with partners, associates, and staff who took the time to truly support my development as an attorney, support I continue to receive as an associate.  The summer program also provided fun social events where I could interact with the associates and partners in relaxed settings, and also showed me what life is like as an associate attorney at Bowman and Brooke.  This experience, along with the opportunities to work alongside some of the best trial lawyers in the country, left no doubt that Bowman and Brooke was the place for me!"
