Focusing in law and motion and appellate matters, Joyce Peim's analytical abilities and written advocacy skills often result in the dismissal of cases via demurrer or summary judgment. Her primary areas of practice are automotive product liability and toxic tort litigation.
As a young litigator she was entrusted with bench and jury trials and judicial arbitrations. She then served as corporate counsel to Kaiser Foundation Health Plan, Inc., where she directed litigation, sat on the Amicus Curiae Committee, and was the Legislative Compliance Coordinator. At Kaiser, Joyce was the Team Leader for the Legal Department Total Quality Management (TQM) Pilot Project, which won First Place in the Regional TQM competition. Following her tenure at Kaiser, and prior to joining Bowman and Brooke LLP, she was an associate at a Los Angeles product liability firm, where she represented automotive distributors in consumer protection class actions and toxic tort litigation, and defended health care providers in business tort, D&O liability and shareholder derivative suits.
