Alana Bassin practices primarily in products liability and personal injury defense. Most recently, her work includes defending high exposure chemical/toxic tort cases, construction products, nursing homes and hospitals. In addition, Alana has experience handling employment law and commercial litigation matters.

No stranger to the courtroom, Alana's trial practice has taken her to at least 20 different states defending high exposure personal injury and wrongful death cases. Her trial experience has included cross examinations of experts and other major witnesses, jury selection, delivering both opening and closing statements, and several successful Daubert motions.  She further has significant experience working with insured and self-insured companies and their Third-Party Administrators in handling their litigation.

Alana was an adjunct law professor in legal writing at William Mitchell College of Law from 2001 through 2006.  She was a Law Clerk to Honorable A. Neumann, North Dakota Supreme Court, from 1996 to 1997.  She is frequently called upon by local and national publications, and has been featured in the May 2005 New York Times' article, The Pacifier Isn't for the Client, the February 2005 MSP Business Journal article You've Come a Long Way Baby, and was an April 2007 guest on the Minnesota Public Radio Women on the Move radio program.

Alana is very active in our firm's diversity efforts and mentoring young associates.  She currently acts as the hiring partner for our Minneapolis office, and recently authored, Gender and Generational Issues Across Borders, and Marketing and Business Development for Senior Associates, both of which appeared in The Woman Advocate and Flight of Female Lawyers in Canada Mirrors US Exodus which appeared in Of Counsel.
