Michael R. Carey
Minneapolis, Minnesota
Mike Carey practices complex commercial litigation with a focus on product liability and toxic torts defense. Mike also represents builders and lenders in litigation involving mechanics' liens and personal guaranty issues. He has represented clients in 20 states around the country, deposing plaintiffs and their experts in high-exposure personal injury cases. In 2009, Mike chaired a successful trade secret misappropriation and breach of fiduciary duty trial involving a closely-held Minnesota corporation and limited liability company.
In law school Mike was a member of the 2006-07 William Mitchell Law Review. He and a teammate also won the 2006 Rosalie E. Wahl Moot Court Competition, in part by submitting the highest scoring appellate brief. While at William Mitchell, Mike also received CALI Awards for the highest grades in Torts II and Toxic Torts.
When not practicing law Mike enjoys spending time with his family, fixing things around the house, and big game hunting in Wyoming and Northern Minnesota.
